Relief from pain and discomfort.

If you are needing to use ibuprofen gel, or muscle rub creams then sports massage is probably what you need instead.

Sports massage therapy is not just for athletes. I use a variety of techniques which come under the banner of sports massage and remedial therapy. These include muscle energy techniques (MET), soft tissue release (STR) and trigger point work. All these along with massage can be used to help with headaches, muscular aches and any restriction in movement to give real pain reduction and relief often straight away.

Sports massage 1 hour session

An hour session is recommended for first appointments and for returning clients where there is a focus on larger muscle groups or multiple areas on the body.

Each consulation will involve an assessment to guide the session to best meet your intended outcomes as well as hands on work that may include soft tissue release, stretching, identification of trigger points and deep tissue massage.

Sports massage 30 minute session

The 30 minute sessions are recommened for returning clients who are looking for work on a specific small muscle area e.g issues with the arm, shoulder or foot, or for massage and stretching maintenance as part of their training programme, e.g. stretching hamstrings and quads for runners.

These sessions can also be ideal follow up appointments to continue work on the head and face to relieve headaches.
